What is a Reading Rally? Is it just a readathon fundraiser online?
A Go Raise It “Reading Rally” is a readathon style sponsored fundraiser run online on our custom built school fundraising platform. Our team will work with you to plan your fundraiser and create your own custom fundraising website for your students to seek online sponsorship for their efforts in the Reading Rally. Our fundraising websites even allow your students to choose a goal for what they will aim to achieve during the Reading Rally. They can show their goal on their own unique fundraising page and send this to friends and family to sponsor them for their efforts. Our team will work with you to plan how you want it to work and then build this into your fundraising website.
How much work is involved for the organisers?
A Reading Rally fundraiser is very easy to organise. You will need to decide what the students will be doing as their activity – this could be as simple as all students choosing how much extra reading they will do per day during the fundraiser. You can decide whether students track this themselves or in class on a class tracking sheet. Go Raise It provides a guide of how to plan your fundraiser – you can add additional activities for your students throughout the Reading Rally fundraiser but that is totally up to you.
Do we have to call it a "Reading Rally"?
No you don’t! If you have an existing school readathon fundraiser or you just want to call it something else it is totally up to you.
